Tips for choosing your holiday card

Our family had portraits done this year and I wanted to share a great tip I give my clients who need to narrow down a photo to display on their wall or use on a holiday card.

If you’re trying to decide between a handful of images print a copy and place them on your fridge or bathroom mirror. It’ll become clear over a day or two which ones feel meh and which one you ultimately love.

Often times I know that people make holiday cards for business associates. If that’s the case – consider the image you want to project within those circles. Are you in the crazy stage of new parenthood or the fun loving teenage stage? Consider those things.

The photo above is one of my favourite images of the season – a returning client, Nikki, looked so beautiful and happy and I loved photographing how calm and unflappable they were. Small kids is no joke and when you make it look effortless you become an instant favourite in my books.

How do you choose your holiday image? Do you make cards?
